Chhattisgarh: 5 family members axed to death; killer commits suicide
In a shocking incident in the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district of Chhattisgarh, five members of a family, including a child, were brutally found murdered. Manoj Sahu, the alleged accused and a resident of the same village, died by suicide afterward. District Superintendent of Police Pushkar Sharma reported that the victims had sustained ax injuries and stated, "Circumstantial evidence suggests that Manoj killed them before hanging himself."
Victims identified, forensic investigation underway
The victims were identified as Hemlal Sahu, his wife Jagmoti, their daughters Meera and Mamta, and their five-year-old grandson Ayush. The motive for the murders remains unknown, but locals believe it was a love affair gone awry, with the perpetrator avenging it by murdering the lover and her family.
