Greater Noida horror: 3-year-old allegedly raped inside school, lifeguard held
A lifeguard was held on Saturday for allegedly raping a three-and-half-year-old girl in the premises of a private school in Greater Noida. The victim's parents came to know of the horror when their daughter complained of pain in the abdomen and private parts. The lifeguard, identified as 42-year-old Chandi Das, reportedly assaulted the girl on Thursday morning.
Girl's hymen was broken, medical report concluded
The girl's father took her to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital in Delhi after she complained of pain. The medico-legal report concluded force was applied on her private parts and that her hymen was broken, said Manoj Pant of Surajpur police. The toddler got admitted to the school in nursery this year. Her father works at a private firm, while her mother is a teacher.
At school, girl pointed to Chandi Das and cried
The girl's father said when the survivor was taken to school the next day, she pointed towards Das and cried. Das is reported to have committed the heinous crime when nursery kids were taken to the pool for swimming. A native of Burdwan, West Bengal, Das was picked up from his temporary residence in Noida. He has categorically denied the allegations.
Parents have demanded strictest punishment, says police officer
"The parents have demanded strictest legal punishment for the accused. We have booked Das under Indian Penal Code Section 376 for rape and also levied Sections 7 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act," said officer Manoj Pant.
Meanwhile, the school's principal claims the girl is 'healthy'
Defending himself, Das said he has been working as a lifeguard for 13 years and no one has accused him of such an act. A security guard maintained there have never been any complaints against Das. On its part, the school said Das wasn't their employee. However, the principal added CCTV footage showed no such act was committed, and the girl was 'healthy'.
