Google announces Summer Camp for 100 Indian school kids
Google has announced a contest for Indian school children- the top 100 school kids will be selected for a "fun filled" Summer Camp to be hosted at Google's Gurgaon and Hyderabad campuses. The contest requires kids to complete four assignments - one each week - following which the top 100 will be selected. Here's more about it.
Google's open letter to parents
"We...bring to you a series of activities you can do along with your kids...At the end of four weeks, we will host a fun filled Summer Camp...flying up to 100 participants along with their guardians," said Google in an open letter to parents.
What the assignments for the Summer Camp consist of
The first three assignments will assess students' ability to use Google Earth, Google Translate, Google Arts and Culture to learn various things. The final assignment will involve students creating their own app via Google's Code to Learn initiative. All the assignments will come with a set of instructions, and each assignment will be linked to the previous one. There will be subjective questions too.
How to access the assignments for the Summer Camp
The assignments can be accessed on the #SummerWithGoogle website, and on Google's social media handles. The first assignment on Google Earth has already been released, and the others will be released in the subsequent weeks to come. The assignments are aimed at making Indian school kids "Internet Awesome" i.e. "Internet Smart, Internet Alert, Internet Strong, Internet Kind, and Internet Brave".
