Goa: Over 10,000 sit for government examination, all fail
10,815 candidates sat for an examination for the post of accountant in Goa government's directorate of accounts, and none of them cleared it, it has been reported. 80 posts were up for grabs and the examination was held on January 1, this year. The government will now re-advertise the posts. The shocking results were announced on Tuesday.
43 posts were for general category, 21 for OBC
The examination was for direct recruits, and no one qualified it, Prakash Pereira, Director of accounts, announced. Out of 80, 43 posts were for general category, 21 and 9, for OBC and ST respectively. 2 each post were designated for SC category and children of freedom fighters. Only candidates having B.Com of BA (Economics) were eligible.
After results, Congress says BJP playing with youth's future
Pereira explained that the test wasn't difficult, and was just like other exams held by the government. But the Opposition saw this as an opportunity to target ruling BJP. Amarnath Panjikar of Congress said the government was playing with future of unemployed youth, while AAP said promises of jobs were hollow. In its defense, BJP's Sadanand Shet Tanavade said recruitments were independent government process.
