Gatimaan Express, India's fastest train, now till Jhansi
Gatimaan Express, widely touted as India's fastest train, will now go all the way till Jhansi. The route of the train, which originally ran from Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin Station to Agra Cantt., was extended by the Indian Railways on April 1 to promote tourism and boost connectivity between the National Capital and Uttar Pradesh's Bundelkhand region. Travel time between Delhi and Jhansi less than five hours
The train will run on all days except Fridays. It will leave Hazrat Nizamuddin at 08:10am, reach Agra Cantt. by 9:50am and Jhansi by 12:55pm. For its return, it will leave Jhansi at 03:05pm, stop at Gwalior and Agra, and reach Nizamuddin by 07:30pm. Thanks to the new route, passengers can now reach Jhansi from Delhi and vice versa in less than five hours.
The train was extended till Gwalior on February 19
Gatimaan Express has 10 AC chair-car coaches, of which two are executive. It also has bio-toilets. The route of the premium train was extended till Gwalior on February 19 this year. At the time, the railway ministry had announced that the train would run at 160 km/h from Nizamuddin to Agra Cantt. and at 130km/h from Agra till Jhansi.
