Ammonia gas leak in Goa: 2 hospitalized, hundreds evacuated

Hundreds of residents in Goa's Chicalim were evacuated after a tanker carrying ammonia overturned on the Vasco City-Panaji highway.
At least two women were taken to hospital after complaining of breathlessness.
The incident occurred at 2:45am in the night. The tanker was going from Mormugao Port Trust to Zuari Industries, both in Vasco.
Rescue teams were rushed to the spot and the highway blocked.

Action
Most locals were sleeping when the mishap happened
There's no word on how the tanker overturned, but gas started leaking from it after the accident.
Most locals were sleeping. Fire and police personnel woke people up and evacuated the 300 houses in the area, a few kilometers from the Dabolim Airport.
Traffic has been diverted through other roads.
People in the vicinity have been urged to cover their mouths with wet cloths.
