Gambhir contributes Rs. one crore for Ram Temple construction
Gautam Gambhir, BJP MP from East Delhi, has donated Rs. one crore for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The cricketer-turned-politician said that the donation was made by him and his family for a glorious temple in Ayodhya that is the dream of all Indians. Gambhir said, "A small contribution from me and my family has been made in this endeavor."

Gambhir said in a statement, "Finally this long-standing issue has been put to rest. This will pave the way for unity and tranquillity." The Delhi BJP has launched a campaign for the collection of donations through coupons across the city.

Kuljeet Chahal, Delhi BJP General Secretary and convener of the campaign said, "There are many persons who have their sentiments deeply associated with the Ram temple and who are willing to contribute large sums of one crore or more." "Coupons of Rs. 10, Rs. 100, and Rs. 1,000 will be used for the collection of donations from as many households as possible," he added.
Various saffron outfits will participate in the campaign: Chahal
Chahal informed, "Contributions of over Rs. 1,000 will be made through cheques. Various saffron outfits including the RSS, VHP, and others will participate in the campaign for collecting contributions from people. A door-to-door campaign will be started from February 1 for collecting donations through coupons."
Disputed land was handed to a trust for temple construction
The temple construction will be undertaken by a trust, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. In November 2019, the Supreme Court of India in its judgment regarding the Babri Masjid demolition case handed over the disputed land to the Hindu trust for building the Ram Temple. The ground-breaking ceremony for building the temple was performed on August 5, 2020, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
