Delhi: Four 'juveniles' allegedly rape 20-year-old woman, arrested
In yet another case, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by five youths, four of them suspected minors, in Delhi's Jahangirpuri. According to the victim, the accused reside in the same colony. Police are probing if they are indeed juveniles. A medical examination has confirmed rape. This comes five days after a teenager was gang-raped by three youths in a Shalimar Bagh park.
Youths allegedly grabbed her near the Jahangirpuri dumpyard
The victim said she was passing by the municipal garbage dump in Jahangirpuri at around 1:30am yesterday when she ran into the five youths. They then grabbed her, took her to a desolate spot and raped her in turns. They threatened to kill her if she called for help or informed anyone. Later, she told a relative about it, after which they informed cops.
Some reports said they made her drink, raped at knife-point
However, according to Indian Express, the woman was friends with one of the juveniles, who invited her to a party at his home on Wednesday evening. His four friends, who were already there, then forced her to drink. "Afterwards, they allegedly held her hostage for around five hours and gang-raped her at knife-point," a cop said. They let her go at around 1.30am.
All five arrested, efforts on to ascertain age
All five have since been arrested. One of them aged 22 has been sent to judicial custody in Tihar Jail. The others, who claim to be minors, have been sent to a correction home. However, they have no documents like Aadhaar or school-leaving certificate to prove their age. DCP Aslam Khan said they will seek an ossification test to ascertain their age.
