Four of infamous Durgesh Gang nabbed in Noida
Four alleged members of a gang involved in over five dozen cases of street crimes in Delhi-NCR were held after a gunfight with the police in Noida on Monday, officials said. One of them was injured in the exchange of fire that took place near the Radisson Hotel in Sector 57 that falls under the Sector 58 police station, they said.
The gang has 60 to 70 cases lodged against it
The officials also mentioned that the other three were held during a combing operation. Noida's Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranvijay Singh said the four arrested men are "key members" of the infamous Durgesh Gang of Delhi which has 60 to 70 cases lodged against it in the National Capital Region.
A motorcycle with a police record led to the chase
"Our teams have been constantly working on preventing street crimes like snatching. As part of the drive, a police team in the morning identified a motorcycle whose number was in our list of vehicles involved in suspicious activities," Singh said.

"The police team chased this motorcycle which had two riders, leading to a gunfight between the two sides. One accused got hit on his leg during the retaliatory firing by the police and was held," he added. The injured person has been identified as Amit Singh alias Mota, who has around a dozen cases registered against him, the additional DCP said.
An illegal firearm and 11 stolen mobile phones recovered
His partners Umesh, Ankit, and Monu were held during a combing operation, he said, adding these accused have been listed as "bad characters" by Delhi Police. The police has recovered an illegal firearm and 11 stolen mobile phones from them. The injured person has been taken to a hospital for treatment, others are being interrogated and legal proceedings have been initiated, the officer said.
