Assailants fired several rounds at Bhanushali, two bullets hit him
He was apparently shot dead between Gandhidham and Surajbari stations in Kutch district, said Vaghela. "When the train reached Maliya station of Morbi, we recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem," said the SP. As per preliminary investigation, two bullets were fired at him. "We also recovered some empty bullet cases from the compartment, and sent them for forensic examination," he said.
Bhanushali resigned from top party post owing to rape allegations
Bhanushali had represented Abdasa Assembly constituency (Kutch) from 2007 to 2012. He had stepped down from the post of Gujarat BJP's VP last July after a woman accused him of rape. The Gujarat HC however quashed the case in August after she withdrew the complaint.
