Foot overbridge near Mumbai CST station collapses, 2 killed
Two women have been killed and 16 others injured in Mumbai as a foot overbridge near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) Railway Station collapsed on Thursday. The overbridge collapse occurred at one of Mumbai's busiest stations during the peak hours due to which there was a lot of rush on the overbridge. It crashed at around 7:30 pm with a loud bang. Injured persons are being shifted to hospitals: Mumbai Police
"Foot over bridge connecting CST platform 1 north end with B T Lane near Times of India building has collapsed. Injured persons are being shifted to hospitals. Traffic affected. Commuters to use alternate routes. Senior officers are on spot," the Mumbai Police tweeted.

Police officials and ambulances are on the spot; rescue operations are underway, according to reports. Traffic is also being diverted and commuters have been advised to use alternate routes. "We are trying to decongest the area so as to ensure easy movement of ambulances. That's all I can say right now," Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic was quoted as saying by NDTV.
NDRF team has been moved from Andheri center: NDRF
"As per the information received, a part of foot over bridge near CSMT station in Mumbai collapsed. As per initial information, 10-12 persons are feared to be trapped under the debris. An NDRF team has been moved from Andheri center," said NDRF, according to ANI. "One team from Regional Response Center (RRC) Mumbai has been rushed to the spot," NDRF added.

Overbridge in use even as repairs were being done
According to eyewitnesses, repairs were being carried out on the foot overbridge today morning but it was still being used. The foot overbridge connects CST station to Azad Maidan Police Station. It is also known as the Kasab Bridge.
