    What's the story

Sources stated that 400 CRPF jawans attached to the Pallipuram CRPF camp have come down with suspected cases of food poisoning.

The jawans, who complained of vomiting and diarrhoea, have been rushed to various hospitals around Thiruvananthapuram.

109 were admitted to Trivandrum Medical College Hospital.

Kerala's State Health Minister K K Shylaja had visited the ailing jawans in the hospital.

    Enquiry ordered

Preliminary investigations revealed that the jawans most likely fell ill due to food they had consumed on Saturday night. In particular, officials said the fish curry they ate could be the cause.

Authorities took samples of the food for testing, to identify the cause of the ailments.

The state government has ordered an enquiry into the matter.
