Delhi: Five-year-old girl raped by peon in Tagore Public School
In a horrifying incident, a five-year-old girl studying in Class-I was raped inside a classroom by a peon in Tagore Public School in Delhi's Gandhi Nagar. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad said the 40-year-old peon, identified as Vikas, has been arrested. Girl in a critical condition
The incident came to light when the five-year-old victim reached home after school. Her mother noticed she was bleeding while changing her clothes and took her to a local hospital. She has now been shifted to RML Hospital; doctors say her condition is critical.
Tagore Public School yet to take action
The victim's father said the doctors told him to file a FIR after observing the girl. He was glad the police quickly arrested the peon; he wants them to take strict action against him. He added Tagore Public School has not taken any action. A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered; police are investigating the matter.
Minor complained of pain in her abdomen: Nupur Prasad
Nupur Prasad stated: "Vikas lured the minor with a candy and took her inside the empty classroom where he sexually assaulted her. (Vikas) put his hand in the victim's mouth and threatened her of dire consequences. Her mother noticed bleeding in her private parts."
