Noida: Five gangsters arrested after shootout with police
Five notorious gangsters, carrying cash rewards on their arrests, were held in Noida after a gun-fight with police yesterday night, officials said. Acting on a tip-off, officials from Sector 20 police station held the Bawaria gang members near Sector 14A in the heart of the city where they were planning a robbery, a senior officer said. Police seized cash and robbed material from them.
Rs. 1.5 lakh cash recovered from the possession of gangsters
"Five firearms and dozens of bullets were seized from their vehicle," said Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ajay Pal Sharma. "Over Rs. 1.5 lakh in cash, and some robbed material were also seized from their possession," he said. Three of the five men arrested were injured in the gunfight, while one of their aides managed to flee, added Sharma.
Accused have cases registered against them in various districts
The official further said that those arrested have cases registered against them in various districts., They were gathering other details about the arrestees, and further action would be taken after they get their entire criminal records, he said, adding, an investigation is underway.
