Noida: Building decimated by fire, at least 6 dead
On Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm, a four-storey building in Noida's Sector 11 caught fire; it housed an LED-packaging office belonging to a company called Excel Greentech Pvt Ltd. The incident claimed lives of at least 6 people, whose bodies were burnt beyond recognition. Out of the office's 40 employees, only 15 were indoors as the others were on their lunch breaks.
What was the cause of fire?
A fire safety officer said, "There was a sort of stampede and people do not know what led to the fire. There were LED goods, plastic material, inflammables like hydrocarbon and monocarbon at the spot. Fire and smoke spread rapidly."

According to fire officials, all bodies that were found inside the building were on the third floor, which had a biometric lock on its main door. The door was locked automatically at the time of the fire, preventing those who were inside from coming out. By late Wednesday night, only 3 out of the 6 dead bodies were identified.

According to the police, all victims would eventually have to go through a DNA test as the 3 bodies had been identified through a bracelet, a cell phone and a burnt sock.
