Another fire breaks out at Maha Kumbh Mela
What's the story
A fire broke out at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The incident took place in Sector 18 of the Maha Kumbh Nagar area. Several fire engines were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
"A fire broke out at a camp near Tulsi Chauraha on Old GT Road. However, firefighters have managed to bring the blaze largely under control," Inspector Yogesh Chaturvedi from Khak Chowk police station said.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, but several tents were gutted.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
This is the third report of a fire at Maha Kumbh 2025. Last month, massive cylinder blasts destroyed tents in Sector 19 of the Mela grounds. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded.

Fire was near the ISKCON camp
The fire was near the ISKCON camp in Sector 18, Chief fire officer Pramod Sharma told PTI.
"The fire started from the ISKCON tent and spread to several others. There has been no loss of life or burn injuries... 20-22 tents are burnt," he said.
Previous incidents at the Maha Kumbh also included a tragic stampede that resulted in 30 deaths and 60 injuries on January 29.

Mela will continue till February 26
As of Wednesday, over 3.748 million devotees had taken a holy dip in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati.
Over six million people took a dip at the Triveni Sangam on Thursday, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13 and will last until February 26. Key upcoming dates include February 12 (Maghi Purnima) and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
