Fire tragedies have become pretty common in Kolkata
Fire tragedies in West Bengal's capital have become a little too common these days. Last month, a major fire broke out at Medical College and Hospital. Photos from the college showed patients being taken out of the building with their saline drops. Some were lying on the floor. The establishment is one of the oldest in the city.
Earlier, 1000 business establishments were gutted in fire
In September a major fire at Bagree market in Burrabazar area was brought to control after two days. The fire gutted at least 1,000 business establishments causing huge losses to traders ahead of Durga Puja. The fire started at ground floor of the five-storied building and aided by inflammable materials, it spread quickly. The state government had asked the police to find the guilty.
