Radhe Ma in trouble? HC orders FIR against the "godwoman"
Seems like "godman" Ram Rahim's conviction in two 15-year-old rape cases was just the start; after his sentencing, the Indian judiciary has taken up various cases against Rampal Dass and Baba Ramdev. Now Radhe Ma is on their radar. The Punjab and Haryana HC has ordered an FIR against the "godwoman". This comes on a petition by VHP member Surender Mittal.
What has Radhe Ma done?
Mittal has alleged that Radhe Ma had seduced him; last year, purported audio tapes surfaced reportedly proving his allegations. When he tried to speak out against her, she allegedly threatened him constantly. Radhe Ma faces other allegations: she apparently instructed a man to torture his wife mentally and physically. In 2015, she was booked for obscenity over the videos she carried around during satsangs.
Meanwhile, Ram Rahim languishes in jail
It's been a week since Ram Rahim Singh entered prison, and the 'godman', who lived life lavishly, is just starting to get used to the new conditions. He is to start working as a gardener in jail for Rs. 40 a day. He spent days pacing his 8x8 cell, talking to walls, and mostly staying quiet. Police aren't compromising with his safety though.
