Odisha man murders widowed-daughter, grandchildren over her husband's insurance-money
Before Biswambar, a native of Odisha's Jagatsinghpur, was killed in a road accident last month, he would never have thought his insurance money would end up being the cause of his entire family being murdered. That too, by his wife's father. But Akshay Sethi didn't feel any remorse when he strangled his own daughter and her three little kids to death.
He killed his granddaughters before turning to grandson and daughter
Mamuni got Rs. 5L- Rs. 3L as compensation from IFFCO, her husband's employer in Paradip, and another Rs. 2L as life insurance sum- after Biswambar's death. Her father Akshay, a farmer, wanted a share. So last week, he went to her home and strangled Barsha (10) and Disha (8), his granddaughters, first. Then he killed his grandson Muna (5) before turning to Mamuni.
Sethi initially put the blame on daughter's in-laws
The four bodies were found floating in the Mahanadi river in Jagatsinghpur five days ago. Police found they bore injury marks. Two of them were tied together. Initially, Sethi accused Mamuni's in-laws of the crime, saying they wanted to pocket her money. But police soon found that all four of them had been strangulated, and discovered Sethi's involvement. When they interrogated him, he confessed.
