Famous astrologer Bejan Daruwala dies at age 88
In a tragic piece of news, famed astrologer Bejan Daruwala has died at the age of 88. Last week, rumors had emerged saying that Daruwala had been suffering from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). However, his son had rubbished the rumors recently saying that Daruwala had been suffering from pneumonia and also had a lung infection. Here are more details.
Daruwala was on ventilator support
Reportedly, Daruwala had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He was put on ventilator support after he complained of breathing difficulty—incidentally a symptom of COVID-19. Responding to the news of the astrologer's death, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani tweeted, "Saddened by the demise of renowned Astrologer Shri Bejan Daruwalla. I pray for the departed soul. My condolences. Om Shanti..."

Daruwala's son rubbished COVID-19 rumors last week
Last week, reports emerged saying that Daruwala had been battling COVID-19. Daruwala's son Nastur told The Times of India on Sunday, "My father is suffering from pneumonia and lung infection, and not COVID-19, as has been claimed by a few reports." Nastur had then said, "I spoke to him via video call recently and he seemed to be in a positive state of mind."
Daruwala was a practicing Zoroastrian and Ganesha devotee
Daruwala was born on July 11, 1931, to a Parsi family. He was a practicing Zoroastrian and a self-proclaimed devotee of the Hindu God Ganesha. He was also a noted astrologer and hosted shows on various television channels. It is said that Daruwala predicted the election victories for several Prime Ministers, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Morarji Desai, and Narendra Modi.
