Mysuru: Family of 4 found dead in suspected murder-suicide
What's the story
A family of four was found dead in their apartment in Visvesvaraya Nagar, Mysuru, Karnataka on Monday.
The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Chethan, his 62-year-old mother Priyamvada, his 43-year-old wife Rupali and their 15-year-old son Kushal.
Police suspect Chethan poisoned his family before taking his own life. However, the exact cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
Distress call
Distress call and discovery of bodies
Reportedly, Chethan made a distress call to his brother Bharat in the United States around 4:00am saying, "We are going to die by suicide," before abruptly ending the call.
Bharat immediately informed Chethan's in-laws about the shocking phone call. However, by the time they arrived at Sankalp Serene Apartments, it was too late as the family had already been found dead.

Investigation underway in Mysuru family deaths
Senior officials, including Commissioner Seema Latkar and Deputy Commissioner of Police S Janhavi, visited the crime scene.
A case has been registered at Vidyaranyapuram police station as investigations continue to uncover the reasons behind this tragic event.
Per reports, Chethan was a businessman and mechanical engineer who returned to Mysuru from Dubai in 2019 after starting a job consultancy for graduates seeking employment in Dubai.
Suspected motive
Financial distress suspected in family deaths
Financial distress is being looked at as a possible motive behind the deaths, as Chethan was heavily in debt.
The family had gone to Gorur temple on Sunday and had dinner at Rupali's parents' home before returning to their apartment.
Chethan's body was found hanging, while Rupali and Kushal were found lifeless inside their home at Sankalp Serene Apartments.
Priyamvada was found dead in a separate apartment in the same complex.
