#CBSE2019: Preparing for CBSE Class-XII Examination? Avoid these 5 mistakes
The Class XII Board Examination is a crucial exam that plays an important role in shaping a student's career and future. However, the board exam preparation can be quite stressful and many students tend to make mistakes during the preparation process that ultimately affect their overall score. Here are some common mistakes to avoid while preparing for the CBSE Class XII Board Examination.
Not planning preparation process properly and time mismanagement
One of the biggest common mistakes students make in their exam preparation is not planning the process well. They must create a daily schedule, covering all subjects, and adhere to it. They should set targets and meet their short-term and long-term preparation goals for different topics/subjects. Also, lack of time management and delaying/postponing study sessions is a grave mistake that should be avoided.
Skipping some topics, not preparing for all subjects properly
Many students tend to skip some topics thinking they are "unimportant", but this should be avoided as it affects their final performance. Also, some focus only on subjects they find tough and overlook others assuming they're easy. This may, however, leave them with insufficient time to prepare properly. While students must spend more time on challenging subjects, they should prepare for all subjects seriously.
Not giving importance to school tests and pre-boards
While acing the board exams is the ultimate goal for Class-12 students, they must not ignore other school tests and pre-board exams. They must give equal importance to these examinations as they help them understand the exam pattern well and manage time better. These exams can be a useful way to practice for the finals and must be treated like real board exams.
Avoid buying a lot of books; it leads to confusion
Many students tend to buy a lot of books from different authors for reference. However, it not only leads to confusion but is also a waste of time. Instead, students must focus on the NCERT books and collect one or two good reference books to prepare and score well in the CBSE board exams. This would a better option to avoid confusion during preparation.
Not doing enough practice and lack of proper revision
Another common preparation mistake is the lack of written practice. When students learn something, they must make notes which can be useful in revision. One of the best ways to practice for the final exam is solving practice questions, sample papers, and previous papers by setting a timer which can also help them analyze their performance. They should also practice diagrams for required subjects.
