Delhi: Ex-BSP lawmaker's son pulls out gun at five-star hotel
Reacting angrily after a spat, the son of an ex-BSP lawmaker pulled out a gun at the entrance of a five-star hotel in south Delhi and threatened guests at the hotel, according to a widely-circulated video of the incident. The incident took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in south Delhi's RK Puram. Following the incident, the man was apprehended. Here are the details.
Details of the incident at the Hyatt Regency Hotel
The man in question is Ashish Pandey, a Lucknow realtor and son of former Bahujan Samaj Party MP, Rakesh Pandey. Reportedly, Pandey lost his cool after a woman objected to him walking into the women's washroom. Following the verbal altercation, Pandey went to his car, pulled out a gun, and started threatening the woman in front of other guests and security.
Pandey was eventually dragged away by hotel staff
The video also showed another woman, supposedly Pandey's friend, and security guards trying to calm him down. Eventually, Pandey was subdued and dragged away by hotel staff, at which point the video ended. Police sources said that Pandey was a regular at the hotel, and would often visit the hotel, accompanied by some friends, including women.
