Telangana: Police busts fake job racket in Hyderabad, eight arrested
Eight people belonging to two gangs were arrested on charges of running a fake job racket in Hyderabad and cheating around 150 youths by promising employment in central and state government departments. Police arrested the eight on Thursday and found they had indulged in cheating job-seekers after taking advance between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh from each candidate.
Gangs issued fake training letters, fake appointment orders
The gangs had issued fake appointment orders and training letters to the youth. The modus operandi of the gangs was to tell unemployed youths through their friends and relatives about jobs in various departments including railways, revenue, education and Telangana electricity transmission company, among others. They demanded between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh from candidates to 'help' them secure such positions.

After obtaining the advance from the candidates, the gangs used to send fake mails and call letters asking them to report at their respective departments, police said. After issuing fake appointment letters of railways, the gang members conducted training classes in West Bengal and Odisha for the "selected" candidates. Some were also paid a month's salary, they said.
