Delhi: 2 arrested for duping people through dating apps, mobile-wallets
A 26-year-old man has been arrested along with his 19-year-old woman accomplice in Delhi for duping hundreds of people through dating apps and mobile wallets. Police nabbed Chiranjeev and his female friend after a woman complained her photograph was being used on a dating app without permission to solicit people on the pretext of friendship, South-East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said.
Female accomplice made lucrative calls, offered objectionable pictures to victims
Chiranjeev employed his female friend for Rs. 600/day for making lucrative calls to people and offering them objectionable pictures and even friendship with women for Rs. 500/1,000. "They never used to send any females to the victims and they had the confidence that no one would complain due to fear," Biswal said. Five mobile phones and 11 SIM cards were recovered from the accused.
