NTA to conduct entrance examinations for admissions to DU courses
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the entrance exams for over 180 undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the Delhi University. While admission to most DU courses is subject to cut-off lists, some courses require students to appear for an entrance examination. Notably, NTA also conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-UG [NEET (UG)] this year. Here's more.
NTA aims to conduct tests to assess candidate's competency
As per the information brochure released by the Delhi University, the aim of the NTA is to conduct "efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions." Moreover, NTA identifies "gaps in the knowledge systems" and takes "steps for bridging them." It is also responsible for producing research on educational development standards.
12 undergraduate courses' entrance exam to be conducted by NTA
There are 12 undergraduate courses for which entrance exam will be conducted by the NTA. These courses include BA (Honors) Business Economics, Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), BTech, BA (Honors) Humanities and Social Sciences, among others. Further, a merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in each of the written exams.

Moreover, the students are advised to keep a check on DU's official website for details on the process of the exam. Other courses which require the entrance examination are Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports, B.A. (Honours) Multimedia and Mass Communication, Five Year Integrated Programme in Journalism and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hindustani/Karnatak/Percussion Music.
