Passenger thrown out of flight for trying to enter cockpit
In a weird incident on Tuesday, a passenger on a Mumbai-Kolkata IndiGo flight was offloaded after he tried entered the cockpit to charge his phone. While the plane was on the ground, the unruly passenger tried to force himself into the cockpit to charge his phone. He was subsequently disembarked, and was taken to the Mumbai airport police station. Here are the details.
The passenger was reportedly drunk
The passenger was reportedly drunk when he tried entering the cockpit. Subsequently, as per standard operating procedures, the captain of the flight, 6E-395, ordered the flight crew to offload the passenger. Although he was taken to the Mumbai airport police station for legal action, the police let him off after questioning as they couldn't find any offence to charge him.
A police officer's comment on the incident
"He was drunk and wanted to charge his mobile phone. So he moved towards the cockpit. Police did not find any offence against him to charge a case," said an officer of the Mumbai airport police station.
On Monday, a passenger had tried opening aircraft doors mid-air
Earlier, on Monday, another bizarre incident took place on board a GoAir flight from Delhi to Patna. In that flight, a passenger had tried to open the rear door of the aircraft, while the plane was mid-air. Thankfully, a co-passenger saw him and raised an alarm, following which he was intercepted by airline staff, and handed over to the CISF in Patna.
