    What's the story

At least 21 people were injured and a dozen vehicles damaged when a speeding Jaguar crashed into them in Mumbai's Andheri yesterday evening.

Prima facie, the driver appeared drunk, police said.

He drove haphazardly all the way from RTO Lane, hitting cars, autorickshaws, bikes, scooters and a bicycle, before finally being stopped at SVP Road.

The injured included children too. All were rushed to nearby hospitals.

    Details

The driver was apparently flouting more rules

The driver apparently flouted several rules, police said. Though he is believed to have been intoxicated, cops are awaiting his medical report for confirmation.

He had no documents on him either.

He was a relative of the car's owner, whom police claim to have identified but refused to reveal.

After he was nabbed, locals thrashed him before handing him to police. They also damaged the car.
