Drunk officer rams SUV into bike, vehicles burst into flames
A Delhi government officer, RC Meena, was arrested following a fiery collision with a motorbike on Rani Jhansi Road in the Jhandewalan area. The incident occurred around 2 am on Sunday and resulted in both vehicles being destroyed by fire, according to police reports. Meena, an assistant commissioner in the city's Excise Department, escaped uninjured while the motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized.
Officer intoxicated, says investigation
Police reports indicate that Meena's Creta SUV was speeding when it collided with the Rapido bike. The impact caused the bike to be dragged for a distance before both vehicles burst into flames. A medical examination conducted post-crash revealed that Meena was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Further investigation also found that the Rapido driver did not possess a valid driving license.
Charges filed against officer, released on bail
Charges of rash driving and causing an accident were filed against Meena following the incident. After his arrest, the assistant commissioner was later released on bail. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The motorcyclist's condition remains stable. Further investigation into the case is underway.
