Delhi horror: Woman killed, dismembered body found in cartons
The police recently found a dismembered body of a woman stuffed in two cartons and a plastic bag in Hazi Colony, Jasola Vihar, in South Delhi. The police are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased, believed to be in her 20s. They were informed about the dumped body, after locals called the police about foul smell emanating from the bags.
Woman's head found in one carton, severed legs in another
The deceased's body was chopped into pieces. Her head was stuffed in one carton, her legs in another. The hands and torso were kept inside the plastic bag. Her face was mutilated by many cuts. There were no tattoos or marks on the body, police said. The body was preserved in government hospital's mortuary and her photos uploaded on zonal integrated police network.
Investigating officers aren't ruling out possibility of sexual assault
The police are not ruling out the possibility of sexual assault before the murder. It is believed the woman was also suffocated with rice bag as some grains were found on her face. Investigating officers believe she was murdered somewhere else and dumped in South Delhi to delay probe. They said they have some clues from the cartons and would be following it up.
Meanwhile, police are scanning records of women gone missing
A police officer said body was chopped using meat cleaver, though the weapon wasn't found nearby. "We found a red and green salwar-kameez on the woman's body," he added. They are procuring CCTV footage for clues, and scanning records of women gone missing in the last week. "We are trying our best to identify the deceased and her killers," DCP (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said.
