40 shops gutted in fire at Hyderabad's Abbas Towers
What's the story
A massive fire broke out at Abbas Towers, a commercial complex in Madina Circle, Hyderabad, around 2:15am on Monday.
The blaze caused extensive damage to nearly 40 shops in the complex but there were no reports of any casualties.
GV Narayana Rao, Additional Director of Telangana Fire Disaster Response Emergency and Civil Defence Department, confirmed the details of the incident.
Rescue operation
Several people rescued
Despite the intensity of the fire, no casualties have been reported. The authorities managed to rescue several people from the burning building as well as people from an adjacent one.
This included the family of a security guard who lived inside Abbas Towers.
Apart from the family, 12 people from a nearby building were also safely evacuated amid the chaos.

Fire tenders dispatched to control blaze
In response to the fire, eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately. The swift action of these teams helped prevent further damage and ensured the safety of those in and around Abbas Towers.
Rao said, "We got a fire call at 2:15am... Around 40 shops were damaged due to fire." He also confirmed his team had rescued several people from the affected building.
