The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, and Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata have jointly announced admissions to the 2019-21 Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) programme. Eligible candidates can apply for the two-year full-time joint PG Diploma; the last date for application is 10 January 2019. Here's all you want to know about the admission procedure.
A little about the joint PGDBA programme
The PG Diploma in Business Analytics jointly offered by IIM-C, IIT-KGP, and ISI-Cal is a course designed to create employable business analytics professionals to fill the talent gap for reputed multinational and domestic companies in the area. IIM Calcutta says that the course "aims to help shape the emerging profession of business analytics by delivering a cutting-edge interdisciplinary educational experience to graduate applicants."
What are the eligibility criteria?
Candidates holding a graduate or post-graduate degree with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in qualifying degree (BTech/BE/ MSc/MCom or equivalent) are eligible. Final-year students who can submit their final mark-sheet by 31 Oct'19 can also apply. For SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), minimum qualifying marks for eligibility are 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
How to apply for joint PGDBA online?
Interested students can submit their applications online by visiting the official website (pgdba.iitkgp.ac.in) before 10 January. They also have to pay an application fee at the time of submission. Candidates belonging to the unreserved category are required to pay Rs. 2,000 while SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates have to pay Rs. 1,000. Candidates must go through Written Test, Personal Interview for admission
Candidates are required to clear a Written Test and Personal Interview to secure admission to the PGDBA. This year, for the 2019-21 PGDBA programme, Written Test will be conducted on 17 February. Those who clear it are invited for Personal Interview to be held on 30-31 March. Both Written Test and Personal Interview will be conducted in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
What is the syllabus for the Written Test?
The Written Test comprises two Sections: A and B. According to the official website, the syllabus includes: Section-A: Verbal Ability (Reading & Comprehension; Grammar/correction of sentences) and Logical Reasoning. Section-B: (i) Data Interpretation (pie-charts, graphs, trends) and (ii) Quantitative Aptitude: Sets, combinatorics, Algebra (quadratic equations, inequalities, simultaneous linear equations, binomial theorem, series, AP, GP, HP, matrices), Euclidean geometry, Coordinate geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus.
