    What's the story

    On Thursday, Delhi University (DU) commenced the registration process for undergraduate courses for the batch of 2019-2020.

    The students can register for all the courses online on the university's official website.

    Further, the details of the confirmed and probable scholarships were provided by the university in a press release and information brochure available on its website.

    Here are the details.

    Under Consideration

    Details about the scholarship plan

    In the press release, the university stated that it is considering full scholarships for the students "whose parents are deceased or unemployed".

    Moreover, the students who have lost the earning member of their family will be given half fee waiver "in order to cover their college or university fee".

    The university also released the bulletin information with other details.

    PwD

    Students admitted through PwD quota won't have to pay fees

    Meanwhile, students admitted under the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) quota will not have to pay fees. This includes the examination and other university fees.

    However, they will have to pay for the admission, subscription towards Delhi University Students' Union and Identity Card.

    Moreover, the PwD students taking admissions under the unreserved category will have to pay the admission fee relevant for PwD applicant.

    EWS

    University to increase 10% seats for EWS category students

    Further, PwD students will be exempted from the hostel fee except for the refundable caution fee and 50% of the mess fee.

    Apart from this, the university will also increase 10% of seats for the students under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

    The EWS candidates will have to indicate the category and upload a certificate as proof at the time of online registration.

    NTA

    NTA to conduct entrance examination for selected courses at DU

    As per reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the entrance examinations this year.

    While most of the courses' admissions are subject to cut-off lists, there are a few which need students to appear for an entrance examination.

    Some of the courses for which entrance test is required are B.Tech, B.A.(Honors) Business Economics, Bachelor of Management Studies and Bachelor of Elementary Education.

    Registration process

    Here is how you can register for the UG courses

    In order to register for UG courses, follow the steps below:

    1- Visit the official link

    2- Click on 'New registration' tab

    3- Create an account using your educational and personal details

    4- Log in with email id and password

    5- Fill in your details

    6- Upload the documents required

    7- Pay the application fee

    8- Download the application for further reference.

    Checklist: Documents you will need for DU registration

    Here is a list of documents that one should keep ready for the registration:

    1- A passport size photograph (2-inch x 2-inch)

    2- Scanned signature

    3- Self-attested copies of Class X certificate and Class XII mark sheet

    4- Other certificates (if applicable) including SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW valid certificate, Sports/ECA certificates, income certificate (for OBC non-creamy layer), and Extra Curricular Activities Certificate(s).
