#DelhiRiots: Amit Shah chairs key meeting, Kejriwal and L-G present
As mindless violence has taken over Northeast Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called for a second meeting on Tuesday to review the situation. This is the second meeting that the number 2 in government has called within a span of 12 hours. He met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and L-G Anil Baijal at noon. Kejriwal said Centre assured all possible help.
Northeast Delhi burnt due to contrasting views on CAA
The violence took over Maujpur, Kardampuri, Chand Bagh, and Dayalpur areas on Monday wherein cars were gutted, houses vandalized, and shops burnt. It all started when protesters and supporters of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) clashed with one another, pelted stones, and also attacked cops. A flag march was held yesterday and today as well, but violence continued unabated.

Army will be called if needed: Kejriwal
"Everyone wants the violence to stop. The Home Minister had called a meeting today, it was a positive one. It was decided that all the political parties will ensure that peace returns to our city. The Army will be called if needed," he added.
Kejriwal held important meeting with MLAs
Yesterday, Kejriwal made an SOS call to Home Ministry asking it to do something about the tensions. However, he was slammed for not doing enough and claiming that he was helpless. A short while ago, Kejriwal also chaired a meeting with MLAs of violence-infested areas. Addressing the press later, the AAP leader said legislators informed him that people came from outside Delhi.
Borders should be sealed, suggested Kejriwal
Kejriwal said there's a grave need to seal the borders and make preventive arrests. The CM added, "The hospital authorities have been asked to be prepared and provide quality medical aid to the injured coming there. The fire department has been asked to coordinate with Police and reach the affected areas on time." He urged people to exercise restraint and maintain peace.
Situation was termed "very tense" by Delhi Police
The Delhi Police, that has been ridiculed for not doing enough despite losing a head constable, called the situation in Northeast Delhi "very tense". "We are continuously receiving calls related to incidents of violence from North-East Delhi. Commissioner of Police held a meeting at Seelampur DCP Office last night," the police said in a statement. The DCP who was injured is out of danger.
Supreme Court will hear plea on violence tomorrow
As a precautionary measure, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation decided to shut Jafrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar stations on the Pink Line. The stations will remain closed today. In a new development, the Supreme Court has decided to hear a plea on the violence. The petitioner, Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad, demanded FIR against Delhi Police and others responsible for the rampage.
