Statue vandalism wars: Security tightened around key statues in Delhi
In the wake of desecration of statues of communist icon Vladmir Lenin and Dravidian movement founder EV Ramasamy Periyar, Delhi Police has tightened security around key statues in the national capital as a precautionary measure. The police force has taken note of the incidents in Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and others, and SHOs of various police stations had been alerted to keep a vigil.
No specific alert received, but precautionary measure is taken
A police official said no specific alert had been received about the possibility of statue vandalism incidents here, but the move was a precautionary measure.
