Two suspected terrorists of ISIS-linked outfit arrested near Red Fort
The Delhi police arrested two suspected terrorists belonging to a group having allegiance to the ISIS, on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, it has been reported. The two were identified as Parwez Rashid and Jamshed Jahoor, and were arrested near Red Fort. Reportedly, both the men are engineering students. A special cell of the Delhi police arrested them. Both are operatives of Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir
Both of them are operatives of Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir (ISJK), a relatively new outfit owing its allegiance to ISIS. Parwez and Jamshed are residents of Kashmir's Shopian area. It has been learned that a relative of one of the arrested died in an encounter. They were booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and taken into arrest.
Senior police official says they had no plans for Delhi
In a press conference, police said the suspected terrorists were using Delhi as a transit point and had no plans for the National capital. Both of them were well versed with the areas of Delhi, police said. They recovered advanced weapons, imported pistols, from the men. Details about the circumstances of their arrests and their involvement in illegal activities are still awaited.
