Man kills minor boy after he resists sexual assault
A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and killing a minor boy in Delhi's Jaitpur after he tried to resist the crime. The accused, Amar Nath, was traced after the victim's friend helped the police in getting his sketch prepared. Police identified Nath, who belongs to Maharashtra's Sholapur. He was nabbed from near a jhuggi in front of Agra Canal, Shivpuri, Jaitpur.
The boy's body was found in the canal
On 28 February, a resident of Jaitpur approached police with a complaint that his 11-year-old son was missing and expressed a suspicion that he had been kidnapped. However, on 3 March, the body of a boy was seen floating in Agra Canal. The father of the boy subsequently identified him, and the autopsy revealed that he had a sharp cut injury on his neck.
During interrogation accused broke down, confessed to the crime
On 28 February, the accused consumed liquor and saw the boy playing outside the government school. He lured him on the pretext of getting him goodies and took him to an isolated area, where he tried to sexually assault him. When he resisted, the accused took out a knife from his pocket, killed the child, and then threw his body in the Agra canal.
Boy's classmate helps police to find the accused
The boy's classmate revealed that on the day the child was kidnapped, he saw him with a man wearing earrings outside the school. On the basis of a description of the suspect narrated by the witness, two-three sketches were prepared and police finally identified Nath.
