Delhi: Man attacked, dashes to BJP office to save self
A man was attacked by a group in the national capital on Monday night. To save his life, the man ran and entered a BJP leader's office in Rohini area, police said. The incident occurred around 8:30 pm. One Himanshu Chikara beat up Sumit around 5:30 pm and to avenge it, Sumit and his friends went to Chikara's residence around 8:30 pm. Here's more.
The man ran towards BJP leader Vikas Parashar's office
After being attacked, Chikara ran towards the office of BJP leader Vikas Parashar, police said. Sumit and his friends gave him a chase and entered the BJP leader's office. The leader's supporters told police that the attackers ransacked the office and damaged CCTV cameras installed there. However, the police added that Chikara is not linked to the party.
Man attacked is not a party worker: BJP spokesperson
Speaking on the incident, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, "The incident happened at Bawana district Vice President Vikas Parashar's office." The attackers chased the man, and this resulted in Chikara entering Vikas Parashar's office but he is not a party worker, he said. Another BJP leader claimed that the attackers fired a shot in the air.
