Delhi: How to avail ₹2,500 Mahila Samriddhi Yojana monthly assistance

The Delhi government has launched the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, a financial aid scheme to empower women from economically weaker sections.
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will be given ₹2,500 per month directly into their bank accounts.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari announced the scheme and said that registrations for the same would start on March 8, 2025.

To be eligible for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, applicants must be Indian citizens, permanent residents of Delhi, and at least 18 years old. They also need an active bank account for fund transfers.
The registration process requires several documents including an Aadhaar Card for identity verification and a Ration Card to prove economic status.
Proof of address such as a Voter ID or electricity bill, and a registered mobile number are also necessary for OTP verification and updates.

Eligible women can apply for the scheme online by visiting the official Mahila Samriddhi Yojana website.
The application process requires you to fill in personal details and upload the required documents before submitting the form.
Once approved, funds are expected to be disbursed within a month of registration through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Political reactions to the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
The BJP has appealed to opposition parties to support the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) slammed the BJP for delaying approval during its first cabinet meeting.
Responding to these criticisms, the BJP assured that existing free schemes like free electricity, water, and bus travel for women will continue with this new initiative.
