Delhi: Four, including a cop, extort Rs. 15L from man
A policeman along with three men was arrested for allegedly extorting Rs. 15 lakh from a man, threatening to incriminate him in a false human trafficking case. The cop Dharmendra Dhangi was posted in Delhi's west district vigilance unit. The other three accused named Happy, Harry and Ankush are travel agents. The incident occurred in outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar area.
Two of the accused posed as Crime branch officers
The victim is from Ludhiana and had contacted one of the accused travel agents for preparing visas for the US and Canada. When he went to meet him last month the two other accused impersonating Crime Branch officers arrived there, blackmailed him and extorted Rs. 15 lakh. Later, he filed a complaint and the three accused were arrested, who led the police to Dhangi.
