Delhi court summons Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi Yadav in land-for-jobs case
A Delhi court has summoned former railway minister Lalu Prasad and his son, former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, and others in connection with the "land-for-jobs" case. The Rouse Avenue court has asked them to appear before it on October 7. The case involves allegations of irregularities during Lalu's tenure as Railway Minister, where jobs were reportedly provided in exchange for land parcels.

The case involves Group-D appointments in the West Central Zone of the railways, based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, during Lalu's term as railway minister from 2004 to 2009. According to the Enforcement Directorate, these appointments were allegedly made in exchange for land parcels given or transferred by the recruits to the family or associates of the Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo.
Lalu's son Tej Pratap also summonded
According to news agency ANI, Lalu's other son, Tej Pratap Yadav has also been summoned for the first time in the graft case. The court has summoned Lalu, Tejashwi, Tej Pratap, Akhileshwar Singh, Hazari Prasad Rai, Sanjay Rai, Dharmendra Singh, Kiran Devi (Singh's wife) for the next date, ANI reported.
Delhi HC grants bail to businessman
Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court granted regular bail to businessman Amit Katyal on medical grounds. He was arrested in November 2023 in the "land-for-jobs" case and had since been in custody. Separately, on September 7, the Rouse Avenue court postponed its decision regarding the summons for Lalu Prasad, Tejashwi, and other accused.
