Delhi: Cop asks driver to move car, gets killed
A Delhi Police constable was killed in a road rage incident in Nangloi on Saturday night. The officer, identified as Sandeep from the 2018 batch, was hit and dragged by a WagonR after he asked the driver to move his car. At the time of the incident, Sandeep was on special patrol duty due to an increase in burglaries in the area and was dressed in civilian clothes.
CCTV footage reveals details of fatal incident
According to reports, the driver hit Sandeep with his car and dragged him for approximately 10 meters before colliding with another vehicle. Later, the WagonR was found abandoned near the scene, and two occupants were seen fleeing from it. Unconfirmed reports suggest that one of the car's occupants may be involved in illegal liquor trade, but this has not been officially confirmed by police.
Search underway for suspects in constable's death
The Delhi Police have registered a case under 103 BNS and are currently searching for two suspects believed to be involved in this fatal incident. Sandeep is survived by his mother, wife, and five-year-old son. In a similar incident, a 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was brutally beaten up and later died after his vehicle brushed against a car in Faridabad last month.
