    What's the story

A UP government department got hoodwinked by a company claiming to have been established by Delhi government; they eventually ended up paying lakhs of rupees after the former arranged overseas study tour for a senior official.

The first complaint was filed on July 10 and a case was filed on July 22.

Police suspect an organized gang led by a couple behind this fraud.

    Context

Fraudulent company NCTSR gives excuses, not refunds on cancelling tour

Sanjay Srivastava, secretary of UP Electricity Regulatory Commission, filed a case saying that a company named NCTSR had contacted chairman of UP electricity board, about a study tour related to power and infrastructure in Singapore and Thailand on December 24 last year.

The power department got the tour approved by the government but it never materialized. Later, the company gave excuses instead of refunding.

    FIR

Three operational addresses were mentioned by fraud company

As per the FIR filed by the senior government department official, NCTSR mentioned different Delhi addresses in each letter furnished to the UP Government employee.

The letter gave Mayur Vihar III, Ghaziabad and Triveni Apartment in Jhilmil Colony as the addresses.

It also read that NCTSR's website claimed it was established by "Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, Department of Labour, New Delhi".

    Reaction

Delhi Government says it'll deal with the fraud

After the FIR was registered, a Delhi government official was asked to react on the whole incident to which he was taken by surprise and said it had nothing to do with this organization.

The official said that it only came to their notice after the government had been named on the company's website.

He further added that they'll deal with the matter soon.
