Delhi, Mumbai airports numero uno in quality service: ACI Survey
Delhi Airport grabbed the top spot in service quality survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI). Giving it company is Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Last year, Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport ranked behind Singapore's Changi and South Korea's Incheon airports in the category of handling 40 million passengers per annum (MPPA). This year, it has surpassed all and stands at the numero uno position.

Delhi airport set to expand to accommodate more traffic
Delhi airport, run by GMR group, registered 63.5 million passengers in 2017, helping it surpass Changi, Incheon and Bangkok airports. The ranking came just as the group is planning on expansion of the airport. "As we witness robust traffic growth, we are set to undertake the expansion works at Delhi Airport in line with IGIA Master Plan-2016," said Srinivas Bommidala, Chairman-Airports, GMR Group.
Not just Delhi and Mumbai, other Indian airports shine too
Not just Delhi or Mumbai, many other Indian airports are in first three in their respective categories. In the 5-15 MPPA category, Hyderabad airport is ranked number 1 for 2017. In that same category, Cochin, Kolkata and Pune airports share the third spot. Lucknow airport is the best airport in the 2-5 MPPA category, while Bengaluru airport topped in the 15-25 MPPA category
Performance of airports adjudged on 34 indicators
The airports were judged on 34 indicators, like check-in, restaurants, restrooms, etc. GVK Group that manages Mumbai airport said they 'are delighted to be conferred with this award'. "In 2007, when we had taken over CSIA, the ASQ (Airport Service Quality) score was 3.53 and in a decade we have got it to hover around 4.99 out of 5," said G.V.K. Reddy, founder-chairman, GVK.
