Delhi shocker: Drunk man rapes eight-month-old cousin, arrested
In a horrifying crime, a 28-year-old man has been arrested in Delhi's Netaji Subhash Place for forcing himself on his eight-month-old cousin while drunk. Ironically, the baby's family used to leave her in the care of the accused's family when they went to work. The infant had to undergo several surgeries as she was critical, but is now stable. The accused has confessed.
Accused had taken the baby away to 'play' with her
The accused was the son of the couple's sister-in-law. On Sunday, they went out to work and left the baby with her, who stayed in the same building. During the day, the sister-in-law's son took her to a separate room on the pretext of playing with her, then raped her. He had gagged her mouth so she couldn't make much noise.
Accused arrested while he was trying to flee
The baby's mother returned to find her bleeding and rushed her to a hospital. A medical examination confirmed assault. She had suffered injuries to vital organs and had to stay on ventilator support. They then informed police. The accused initially denied any knowledge, but then fled from the house. Police nabbed him from the area. A case has been filed under IPC and POCSO.
