Delhi: Two auto-lifters arrested, six two-wheelers recovered
Two suspected auto-lifters were arrested in northeast Delhi on Tuesday, the police said. The accused were identified as Rajkumar and Mohd. Jaffar. Five stolen motorcycles and one scooter were recovered after their arrest. The police said with the arrest and recovery, six cases of motor vehicle thefts were solved. Both the accused were recently released from jail in a case of motor vehicle theft.
Accused were idle alcoholics, used to sell stolen vehicles
During interrogation, the accused were found to be alcohol addicts and had no work to fulfil their daily needs. They have stolen motorcycles from different parts of Delhi and UP and have been previously involved in robbery, house theft and burglary cases. After stealing, they used to park vehicles in suitable areas and then search for customers to dispose of the stolen motorcycles.
