Communal clash at Dehradun railway station over interfaith relationship

A communal clash broke out at the Dehradun railway station on Thursday night over an interfaith relationship.
The young couple, a Hindu man and a Muslim woman from Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, were confronted by members of their respective communities who had learned of their presence at the station.
The confrontation quickly escalated into violence with objects being thrown, stones pelted and damage caused to parked trains.

Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ajay Singh, confirmed that a minor girl from Badaun had traveled to Dehradun to meet someone.
He added that a missing person's report was already registered in Badaun.
Upon learning about the girl's location, local police informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and provided her details.
Heavy police forces were deployed around the railway station to control the situation, with teams conducting foot patrols to maintain peace.

The police are currently reviewing CCTV camera footage to identify those responsible for the violent clash.
SSP Singh addressed the crowd at the station, assuring them that matters would be taken care of and urging them to return home.
Senior police officials have said that a thorough investigation will be launched and those involved will be dealt with legally.
