Dehradun shocker: 11-year-old rapes 3-year-old girl. Is humanity dead?
In a discomforting incident which shows something is seriously wrong with humanity, a three-year-old was raped in Dehradun. If the assault on the kid wasn't enough, the fact that she was raped by an 11-year-old confirms we are failing our children. The shocking incident happened on Tuesday and police was approached on Wednesday night, reports TOI. Here's more on this.
Accused lives close to victim's house
The victim's mother works as a house help while her father is employed at a hotel. On Tuesday morning, the couple left for work leaving their three kids behind. The victim has an elder brother aged nine years, and a sister, who is seven years old. The accused boy lives next to the family and reportedly took the victim to his home.
Victim's mother confronted the accused, he confessed
The accused lured the victim under pretext of sweets. He led her to his house where he raped her. After her mother returned, the victim revealed what happened. Her mother then confronted the accused, who confessed the crime. On Thursday, an FIR under IPC Section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered.
The boy has been sent to juvenile home: Police
Talking about the shocking case, SP (City) Shweta Choubey said the girl's medical test was conducted on Thursday and the statement was recorded on Friday. She added the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has been informed and the boy has been sent to a juvenile home. "It is still too early to comment further as the matter is still being probed," Choubey said.
