Haryana government announces Rs. 1.5 crore prize to CWG gold-medalists
What's the story
Anil Vij, Haryana Sports Minister, announced today that a Rs. 1.5 crore reward will be given to the state's player who won gold medals in the 2018 Commonwealth games.
Athletes from Haryana won 22 medals, including nine gold, six silver and seven bronze.
The silver medalists will get Rs. 75 lakh each, and those who won bronze medals will receive Rs. 50 lakh.

A celebratory moment
With 66 medals, India clinches third spot
At CWG 2018, the Indian team put its best foot forward winning 66 medals, coming third preceded by England (136 medals) and Australia (198 medals). Out of 66, there were 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze.
Shooting sensation Anish Banwala, who is only 15-years-old, was among those walking away with a gold medal.
Saina Nehwal defeated PV Sindhu for gold on last day.
