Cuttack: Govt. doctors booked for medical-negligence leading to teen's death
In an alleged medical negligence case, an FIR has been registered against three senior doctors of Cuttack's government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital. A Puri resident lodged a complaint alleging that his 14-year-old son Aditya, who was admitted three months ago with a kidney ailment, died due to negligence in treatment. While the nephrology professors (medicines) suggested kidney transplantation, urology professor (surgery) recommended surgery.
Police booked the three doctors under different sections
"A case under section 304-A (causing death due to negligence) and 34 (criminal act with common intention) of IPC has been registered against nephrology professors Chittaranjan Kar, Sashibhusan Rout, and urology professor Datteswar Hota," Arun Kumar Swain, Inspector - Mangalabag, said. Aditya's family had even arranged a suitable donor for the transplantation. However, doctors allegedly neglected the case, and the boy died today.
